margin für img Tag

Hallo,

ist es standardkonform margin's bei dem img Tag zu verwenden. Eigentlich ist img ja ein Inlinetag und ich denke mal margin ist wohl nur für Blockelemente, oder ist das egal?

Weder bei

'margin-top', 'margin-right', 'margin-bottom', 'margin-left'

    Percentages:   refer to width of containing block

noch bei

'margin'
    Value:   <margin-width>{1,4} | inherit
    Initial:   not defined for shorthand properties
    Applies to:   all elements
    Inherited:   no
    Percentages:   refer to width of containing block
    Media:   visual

sehe ich eine Einschränkung auf block-Elemente. "Applies to: all elements" ist eigentlich ziemlich eindeutig.
