Ein IE unter Gentoo/Wine ist sicher etwas anders als ein IE unter Windows.
Die Unterschiede dürften aber nicht sonderlich groß sein. Ich tippe in diesem Fall eher auf eine Fremdsoftware, die sich irgendwo ins System bei Dir eingräbt und den Absturz verursacht. Der IE ist nicht an allem Schuld. ;-)
